VYBZING
The Vybzing Outreach Programme provides an opportunity for youth to engage in dialogue with CDB and develop and present innovative solutions to development challenges. CDB believes that initiatives such as these are important for creating an enabling environment for youth leadership and partnerships in efforts to achieve sustainable development.

VYBZING TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO OUTREACH PROGRAMME
Co-sponsored by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the Vybzing Regional Youth Outreach Programme (Vybzing) 2019, to be held from June 1-3, 2019, will be the first of its kind and will be held under the theme, Youth-led Innovation, Regional Transformation. The expanded programme is the Bank’s response to feedback received from youth across its Borrowing Member Countries. They will also be invited to engage in dialogue with CDB and to create and present innovative solutions to the Region’s critical development challenges.

Vybzing will consist of four related activities:

Youth Innovation Forum:  A three-day residential forum targeting 32 youth, ages 18-29, from across the Region and including 14 participants from Trinidad and Tobago.  An additional 50 young people, ages 16-29 from Trinidad and Tobago, will join the core group for Day 1 of the Forum.

A team of local, regional and international facilitators will engage the youth via interactive discussions, presentations, immersive innovation experiences and group exercises.  They will also co-create a youth innovation programme of support to be rolled out under the Bank’s first Youth Policy and Operational Strategy.

Participants will be asked to complete a series of assignments and participate in LIVE video conferencing sessions prior to the start of the Forum to ensure that they are sensitised to the goals of the Forum and are equipped to engage fully throughout the complete event.

Youth Innovation Challenge: On the final day of the Forum, a Challenge will be opened to participants using a hackathon format. The Challenge will require the creation of an innovative response to idea challenges - using digital technology or otherwise. Attractive prizes will be provided to the winners. A special prize will be awarded for the response that best responds to the Agenda 2030 core principle, Leave No-One Behind.

Youth Innovation Vision Wall: Over the course of the Forum, young men and women participating in the various activities will have an opportunity to document their ideas for, and commitments to, innovative responses to promote sustainable development.  The Wall will also feature video clips from the Forum. Participants in the Annual Board of Governors’ Meeting will be offered a youth-led, guided tour of the Wall.

Youth Innovation Expo: Young entrepreneurs and innovators from Trinidad and Tobago will be offered an opportunity to showcase their innovative products during the Forum days.
