IMA presents 40th Anniversary Publications to Minister of Planning and Development

On Monday 7th May 2018, the Institute of Marine Affairs (IMA) presented the Honourable Camille Robinson-Regis - Minister of Planning and Development, with copies of two new publications entitled “Coastal Reflections: Celebrating 40 Years of Excellence and “Life along the Seashore of Trinidad and Tobago”. On behalf of the IMA, Mr. Hayden Alexander - Chairman, Board of Governors, Dr. Ahmad Khan- Director, Ms. Alicia Carter-Fisher – Chief Information Officer and Mrs. Lori Lee Lum – former IMA employee and co-author, were present to present copies of the books.
These two publications were launched at the IMA’s 40th Anniversary and Long Service Awards on Wednesday 18th April 2018 at the Government Plaza, Port of Spain. “Coastal Reflections: Celebrating 40 Years of Excellence 1978-2018” was compiled from previous IMA’s Tidal Calendar photographs over the past 18 years. This book showcases many scenic landscapes and seascapes, beautifully and colourfully displayed. The marine biodiversity represented by the underwater flora and fauna along with coastal features throughout Trinidad and Tobago are captured.
Life along the Seashore of Trinidad and Tobago” was published as a field guide to enable persons who frequently visit local beaches to learn more about our natural heritage and is the IMA’s first e-book.   A brief description of the various flora and fauna is outlined in the field guide and pictures of our native flora and fauna offer a glimpse into our bountiful biodiversity found on a single trip to our coast or beach.
Copies of these publications are available at the IMA for purchase.
